Wakhi Barma Sadayi Bami Dunya Celebrates 14th Anniversary

The Artists of Wakhi Barnama, Sadayi Bami Duya in close collaboration with the Administration of PBC, Gilgit celebrated its 14th Anniversary on 14th November 2010. A one hour program including reflections and speeches by the old artists, producers, Station Directors (Ex and existing) and other dignitories from Wakhi language and culture were all presented live from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM PST. Following were included among the specially invited guests/dignitories:
  1. Mr. Gul Baig, Secretary Finance, Gilgit-Baltistan
  2. Alwaez M. Aslam, Research Scholar, ITREB Pakistan, Gilgit
  3. Col. Zahid Ali, ISPR Pak-Army (Wakhi based in Gilgit)
  4. Mr. Ali Qurban, Wakhi Poet, Educationist and Convenor, Coordinating Committee for the affected people of Atta Abad Disaster.
  5. Mr. Ahmed Jami Sakhi, Academic Administrative Officer, PDCN and Senior News Caster/Talker Radio Pakistan Gilgit.
  6. Mr. Alam Khan, Station Director, Radio Pakistan Skardu
  7. Mr. Aftab Mehmood, Station Director, Radio Pakistan Gilgit
  8. Mr. Rehmat Ali, Acting Engineering Manager, Radio Pakistan Gilgit
  9. Dr. Sherdil Khan, Producer Shina Program
  10. Mr. Wajid Ali, Producer Wakhi/Kohwar/Brushaski Program, Radio Pak Gilgit
  11. Many old and new artists, Wakhi Barnama-Sadayi bami Dunya
  • Mr. Sultan Ahmed and Ms. Marjan Aziz were the comparers and moderators of this special transmission.
  • All dignitories appreciated the progress of Wakhi Barna over the past 14 years and appreciated the role of Radio media for the promotion and protection of language, culture, music and for raising awareness among the common masses. The said that radio was instrumental in enhancing the passion of poets, singers and other academia for doing marvelous job in relation to Wakhi language.
  • The Station Directors (old and new) invited all potential and knowledgeable people to come to PBC Gilgit and contribute their knowledge and art in their respective field. They felt that knowledge advancement is very fast in comparison to what we are doing and planning to do.
  • At the end of the program, cake was cut and refreshment was served to all available on this occasion.
